With the long summer days upon us and British Muslims fasting for 19 hours, sometimes it is just easier to go out for iftar. However, the last thing you want at the end of a long day is to wait ages for your food to be served. So we have picked 5 places you can break your fast or go for sehri (late night meal) in London.
1 – Sapna Caterers Pop Up Restaurant
The famous caterers are back with their pop-up Ramadan only restaurant serving up an Indian / Pakistani buffet at £20 a head at Abbey Manor. Children under 11 are half price and under 3 eat free. They also have prayer facilities on site.
2 – Spice Village Restaurants
With three locations to choose from (Ilford, Tooting & Southall) Spice Village offers a buffet at £13.99 and discounts for kids under 8.
3. Royal Nawaab London Official
Royal Nawab offers a grand feast with a huge selection of grills, salads, curries and desserts to choose from. You’ll be in good company as their London branch just hosted Pervez Musharraf last week. They are open until 11pm. It will cost you £18-20 per adult and £10 for children under 11. Reservations are only accepted for groups of 10 or more so book ahead and go in a large group or be prepared to queue!
4. Nebrasa Brazillian Steak House
If you don’t fancy a sub-continent feast, check out Brazilian BBQ restaurant where a continuous election of meat and poultry cuts are brought to your table. Save some room for the delicious grilled cinnamon pineapple. Their Earlsfield branch is closed for refurbishment so head over to Uxbridge instead. Expect to pay £20 a head or £10 for kids aged 6-10. There is also a vegetarian buffet at £12.50 for those who don’t fancy any meat.
5. Meat and Shake
This popular Southern Barbecue burger and steak joint has a special Middle Eastern inspired Hot Dog “The Humphrey” on the menu for Ramadan at £11.95. Their Tooting branch is also open until 2.30am and serves a full hot cooked breakfast including Maple Syrup and Bacon Pancakes, Beef & Egg Muffin and a Cornflakes Milkshake.
